REAPPORTIONMENT
The Colorado Constitution requires the State to reapportion State Senate and House Districts following each federal census. As a result of the State's reapportionment effort, several precincts within El Paso County had to be realigned, adjusted, or newly formed. Additionally, the recently approved Commissioner district boundaries had to be amended accordingly. A total of 276 people were moved to accommodate statutory guidelines. On March 18, 2002, the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners was presented with and unanimously approved precinct additions and adjustments along with the amended Commissioner district boundaries.
