VOTE CENTER TASK FORCE
Per C.R.S. § 1-1-104(49.8) “Vote Center” means a polling place at which any registered elector in the political subdivision holding the election may vote, regardless of the precinct in which the elector resides.
In 2005, the El Paso County Clerk & Recorder’s office established a Vote Center Task Force made up of volunteer citizens, representatives of several special districts, two major political parties, neighborhood organizations and El Paso County Election staff members. The task force examined all aspects, pro and con, of our current process of precinct voting versus vote center voting, and drew conclusions based on their findings. A report was presented to the Board of County Commissioners in the spring of 2005 regarding conclusions reached by the Task Force.
