Tony Anderson, Manager

Tony has served as Motor Vehicle Department Manager since joining the Clerk & Recorder's Office in January 2010. Tony's prior career was at Current USA Inc., subsidiary of Taylor Corporation. There, he held the positions of Operations Manager, Maintenance Manager and Operations Supervisor. Previously, Tony also worked for US Bank as a Branch Manager in the Minneapolis area. Tony has been active in civic leadership with previously serving on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado - Pikes Peak, and graduating from Leadership Pikes Peak, Leadership Now inaugural class. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. Tony resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Jill and two sons, Mark and Matthew.

Emissions Notice

Beginning January 1, 2007, the basic emissions test is no longer required for gasoline powered vehicles in El Paso County.

We offer Motor Vehicle services at all four offices in El Paso County. Our Main office on Garden of the Gods Road tends to have the shortest wait times of our four offices. Our Southeast office at Powers and Airport is our busiest office and tends to have longer wait times because of volume. Our Downtown office at Centennial Hall is our smallest office and has just eight service counters. For more information or directions please call 719-520-6240.

      

NOTE: Effective April 4, 2011 the Real ID ACT now requires all applicants for all Driver License transactions to show proof of their residential address.

 Applicant can provide one of the following documents:

  • Utility bill or phone bill
  • Pay stub or earning statement
  • Bank statement
  • Mortgage document
  • Tax document
  • Insurance policy
  • School transcript or grade card

 A parent's proof of address indicated on license is acceptable for a minor child.

Notices:
  • Payment options are limited to cash, check or Debit/Credit cards, each branch has an ATM in the lobby.
  • Effective July 1, 2006, all new and duplicate title applications will be required to include a SECURE AND VERIFIABLE IDENTIFICATION to complete the transaction. Secure and verifiable identification is required to be presented for new registration, new placard and new temporary permit transactions, although no photocopy is required.  Click here for more information.
  • Effective June 1, 2009, per 42-3-112 (SB09-108), A $25 monthly Late Fee will be charged on all vehicle renewals after the last day of the month following expiration. The fee will not exceed $100.
  • SB09-108 Registration Fee Increase Effective July 1, 2009
    Note: Fees will increase each year through June 30, 2012

Exceptions: Collector plated vehicles (5-yr. registration) are charged the SB09-108 add-on fees for one year only & the fee increase for farm trucks/tractors is ½ of the amount listed above. The fees do not apply to vehicles (+50 yrs) with horseless carriage registration.
