Kids First Special License Plate

Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-221
The Kids 1st group special license plate was created with Senate Bill 06-100. Plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreational vehicles and motorcycles. Kids 1st license plates may only be issued to individuals that have been authorized by the Rocky Mountain Research and Prevention Institute. A certificate will be issued to each authorized individual that is valid for one set of Kids 1st license plates. Individuals should contact the Rocky Mountain Research and Prevention Institute at www.rmrpi.org or www.coloradokids1st.org or by phone at (303)330-5099 to inquire about the issuance of an authorization certificate.
May Be Personalized: Yes, a one-time fee of $60.00 upon issuance and a $25.00 fee will be collected each year there after. The Kids First Logo will be removed from all personalized plates.
Number of Plates Allowed: One per authorized certificate.
Special Plate Fees: Yes, a one-time fee of $50.00 will be collected for the issuance or replacement of the plate.
Requirement: The applicant must donate $30.00 to the Rocky Mountain Research and Prevention Institute’s Colorado Kid’s 1st Fund for each certificate authorizing them to be issued the Kids 1st license plate. Only one license plate per certificate is allowed. The County will retain and destroy the certificate upon issuance of the Kids 1st license plate.
Support the Troops Group Special License Plate

Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-223
The Support the Troops plate was created with Senate Bill 06-080. Plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreational vehicles and motorcycles. Support the Troops plates can only be issued to individuals that have been authorized by the American Military Family, Inc. organization. A certificate will be issued to each individual authorized for one Support the Troops plate only. Interested individuals should contact the American Military Family, Inc. organization at www.AmericanMilitaryFamily.org or by calling (303)746-8195 to be issued an authorization certificates.
May Be Personalized: Yes, one-time fee upon issuance and then a $25.00 fee each additional year thereafter. Logo will be removed from all personalized plates.

Broncos Charities Group Special License Plate

The Denver Broncos Charities license plate was created with House Bill 06-1339. Plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreational vehicles and motorcycles. Denver Broncos Charities plates may only be issued to individuals that have been authorized by the Denver Broncos Charities Organization. A certificate will be issued to each authorized individual that is valid for one set of Broncos Charities plates. Individual may contact the Denver Broncos Charities at http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=1743 or (720) 258-3366 to inquire about the issuance of an authorization certificate.
May Be Personalized: Yes, a one-time fee will be assessed. A $25.00 fee will be collected each year thereafter. The Denver Broncos Logo will be removed from all personalized plates.

Requirement: The applicant must donate $30.00 to the Denver Broncos Charities for each certificate authorizing them to be issued the Broncos Charities plate. Only one plate per certificate is allowed. The County will mark a bold “X” through the Denver Broncos Charities Authorizing Agent’s signature as proof that plates have been issued for this certificate. The Certificate will be returned to the customer as proof of donation to a non-profit organization for tax filing purposes.
Support Education Group Special License Plate

Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-222
The Support Education plate was created with House Bill 06-1404. Plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreational vehicles and motorcycles. Support Education plates may only be issued to individuals that have been authorized by the Impact of Education, Inc. organization. A certificate will be issued to each authorized individual that is good for one Support Education plate only. Individual should contact the Impact on Education, Inc. organization at www.SupportColoradoSchools.org to be issued authorization certificates.
May Be Personalized: Yes, one-time fee upon issuance and then a $25.00 fee each additional year thereafter. The Support Education Logo will be removed from all personalized plates.

Requirement: Applicant will donate $20.00 to the Impact on Education, Inc. organization for each certificate authorizing them to be issued the Support Education plates. Only one plate per certificate is allowed. County will retain and destroy the certificate upon issuance of the plates to discourage duplication or copying.
Bronze Star

Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-213(14)(a)
The Bronze Star license plate was created with Senate Bill 06-028. Plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreational vehicles and motorcycles. The Bronze Star license plates will be authorized by the State Registrations Section and issued by the County Motor Vehicle offices. Proof of being awarded the Bronze Star is accomplished by a copy of the military order awarding the Bronze Star and a DD214 form issued by the United States Government showing that the award was received by the applicant.

Requirement: Applicant must fill out Request for Medal of Valor License Plate and provide supporting documentation to the State Registration Section. Fax copies will be accepted. The authorization and license plate will be provided to the applicant’s county of residence for issuance.
Bronze Star Valor
Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-213(14)(b)
The Bronze Star of Valor license plate was created with Senate Bill 06-028. Plates are issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreational vehicles and motorcycles. The Bronze Star of Valor license plates will be authorized by the State Registrations Section and issued by the County Motor Vehicle offices. The applicant shall submit a copy of the military order awarding the Bronze Star of Valor and a DD214 form issued by the United States Government showing that the award was received by the applicant.

American Indian Group Special License Plate

Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-217
Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-217(1) allows for the issuance of the American Indian Motorcycle License Plate effective January 1, 2007. Colorado Revised Statute 42-3-217(5) allows for the issuance of personalized American Indian license plates also effective January 1, 2007. American Indian Group Special License Plates may be issued to passenger cars, trucks that do not exceed sixteen thousand pounds empty weight, noncommercial or recreational vehicles and motorcycles. The American Indian license plates may only be issued to individuals that have been authorized by the Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce. A certificate will be issued to each authorized individual that is valid for one set of American Indian plates. Individuals may contact the Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber of Commerce at www.rmicc.org to inquire about the issuance of an authorization certificate.
