Online Motor Vehicle Renewals
The Online Vehicle Registration Renewal (OVRR) is an application developed by the Colorado Department of Revenue in conjunction with Colorado.gov. The service allows citizens to renew their motor vehicle registration quickly and easily online, without waiting in line. In addition, users can renew multiple vehicles in one transaction using either a credit card or online check.
Vehicles to be renewed via the online system must meet certain eligibility requirements, have current insurance and emissions (if applicable) on file and be within their renewal month or grace period. Please note that certain vehicle types and plate types are not eligible. In addition, this application will not renew expired vehicle registrations.
Upon completion of their online transaction, users should allow up to 10 business days for delivery of their vehicle’s registration documents and renewal tabs.
This online service includes an administrative fee that allows Colorado.gov to deliver this and other important services. This fee is paid to a third party, which provides these services for Colorado.gov at little or no cost to the taxpayers of Colorado.
For credit card transactions, the administrative processing fee associated with this service is 2.25% of the amount charged plus $ .75 per transaction. If you choose to pay using an eCheck, the administrative processing fee is $1.00 per transaction.
You will have the opportunity to review all applicable fees prior to finalizing your transaction. If you do not wish to pay the fee, you have the option to cancel your online transaction and pay via a traditional, offline method. Online payment is an alternative to traditional types of payments and is considered voluntary.
